Electrically Conductive Pipes and Profiles

Premix offers HDPE and PP based electrically conductive compounds and concentrates for replacing metal in pipes and profiles intended for environments where an uncontrolled static discharge can cause an explosion – e.g. in mines, EX-environments and powder handling. Electrically conductive pipes and profiles can also be used in the transportation of flammable substances – e.g. volatile chemicals, powders or dusts and flammable gases.

In comparison to traditional metal pipes and profiles electrically conductive plastics offer many advantages which sum up as lower total costs:

  • Significantly lower weight – savings in loading, transport, assembly
  • Simple and fast assembly, replacement and maintenance
  • Easy branching and connectivity to other pipelines
  • Low flow resistance due to the smooth inner surface
  • No internal or external corrosion
  • High crack resistance and tolerance for mechanical damage
  • Longer operating time
