Proudly presenting the new benchmark in in vitro diagnostics materials

Borealis and Premix introduced a new electrically conductive compound for high precision pipette tips at Pharmapack 2019. The product is based on Borealis’ regulated polypropylene copolymer developed for the production of medical and diagnostic devices.

The validation of the newly-developed PRE-ELEC® product is the result of intensive collaboration among Premix Oy and Borealis, leading provider of innovative, value-creating plastics solutions.

One of the drivers for the joint project was the trend towards more stringent regulation of medical and diagnostic devices, particularly in Europe. Two pertinent EU regulations include the Medical Device Regulation (MDR) and the in vitro Diagnostics Regulation (IVDR), both of which aim to improve patient safety by introducing stricter procedures for conformity assessment of such devices.
