Cable Applications

Advanced Compounds for Next-Generation Power Transmission

Premix offers a comprehensive portfolio of semiconductive compounds designed to meet the rigorous demands of the cable industry. Whether you're developing power cables, instrumentation cables, or specialty designs, our solutions deliver quality and performance across the entire value chain sustainably.

Applications

Semiconductive Jacketing and skin layer

Premix’s PRE-ELEC® semiconductive compounds provide durable, low-resistance jacketing and skin layer solutions for power cables. They ensure effective charge dissipation and enables testing the insulative jacket underneath, after cable installation—crucial for continued performance of the cable and safety.

PP Semiconductive Screen

Our advanced polypropylene (PP) based semiconductive screen compound, designed to be used in conjunction with PP insulation material (PP-TPE, PP-TPO, or HPTE), provides a superior alternative to conventional XLPE systems. Engineered for exceptional processability, recyclability, and performance, this compound ensures uniform and stable conductivity across the entire operating temperature range, delivering reliable and efficient operation.

Semiconductive Shaped Fillers

Semiconductive fillers reduce electrical interference and prevent static charge buildup in addition the their main functionality of maintaining structural integrity and round shape. Our materials are engineered for consistency in extrusion, making them ideal for complex cable geometries requiring precision and reliability.

Semiconductive Adhesive Layer

Premix’s semiconductive adhesive materials are engineered for reliable bonding of metal laminates or welded sheaths to semiconductive jackets. They can also be applied to metal foils to form metal laminates that function as effective radial water barriers.

EMI Shielding

Electromagnetic interference (EMI) is a growing concern in modern infrastructure. Our EMI shielding compounds provides shielding from electro magnetic interference, particularly important in industrial automation, renewable energy, and data transmission applications.
