Controlling Static Electricity

Stay safe with PRE-ELEC® electrically conductive compounds

In advanced industries—from healthcare and energy to logistics, automotive, and beyond—uncontrolled static electricity can silently disrupt operations, damage products, and jeopardize safety. Whether it's protecting sensitive electronics, preventing ignition risks, or ensuring cleanroom compliance, ESD is a challenge that can’t be ignored.

Boost Performance and Cut Costs with PRE-ELEC®

PRE-ELEC® carbon black concentrates are designed to deliver efficient ESD protection while offering maximum cost savings. Carbon black is a lightweight, highly conductive additive. When blended into a plastic matrix, it modifies the material's electrical resistivity:

  • Percolation Threshold: At a critical concentration, carbon black particles connect to form conductive pathways, sharply increasing conductivity.

  • Controlled Conductivity: Beyond this threshold, conductivity stabilizes at a plateau, depending on the type and loading of the additive.

What is Static Electricity and Why It Matters?

Static electricity might sound simple, but in industrial environments it can lead to real issues.

Dr. Compound will walk you through it step by step and show how conductive materials help keep products, processes, and people safe.

Applications

Boxes & Pallets

Conductive plastic boxes, containers, and pallets protect electronic components during storage and transport. These solutions maintain consistent ESD protection throughout logistics chains while offering long-term durability and reusability.

Foams

Lightweight, customizable conductive foams are used to safely house delicate components such as PCBs, sensors, or modules. They provide mechanical protection while preventing static discharge during handling and shipping.

Sheets & Trays

Thermoformed or injection-molded trays and sheets are ideal for automated assembly lines and cleanroom applications. Conductive trays help keep components organized while providing safe ESD handling throughout production.

Corrugated Boards

ESD-safe corrugated boards are used to create lightweight, foldable packaging such as dividers, inserts, and custom boxes. They're ideal for tailored packaging formats with surface resistance built into every fiber.
