Interview: Balázs Moczkó, Kora Hungary

We interviewed Balázs Moczkó, Business Unit Manager at Kora Hungary, about working with Premix products and how to grow the business.

Tell us a little bit about Kora!

We are a family company. We place emphasis on quality, personal contacts and strong, long-term relationships with our customers. Our efforts focus on providing comprehensive solutions with a strong understanding of the need for safe and environmentally responsible products. Our main market is Central and Eastern Europe.

What is your role in the company?

As a Business Unit Manager, I focus on sales, customer business development, and opening discussions with suppliers whose materials have potential in our region. I am also the Premix product manager at Kora.

What are the most potential Premix products in your area?

We are more focused on ESD and conductive packaging, for example ESD trays, so we are focusing on PS, PP, and ABS-based compounds.

What is the advantage of having the PRE-ELEC® products in Kora's portfolio?

It is a one-of-a-kind product. It's not like selling plastic raw materials but about selling a solution. I typically meet customers to discuss more standard raw materials. I go through what kind of plastics they use in their production, and then I ask if the customer also needs electrically conductive compounds. Often, they haven't even heard about them, and I need to educate them on the concept.

What activities have you planned for this year?

We are actively visiting our customers and monitoring their needs, which we are eager to meet.

We advertise in a thermoplastics-related magazine 3-4 times a year.

We plan a joined exhibition stand with Premix on Central European Plastic Meeting also this year due to the common success last year. Would like to help customers with different case studies where they can use Premix materials. Every 2 years, we have a customer meeting where our suppliers can meet and lecture our customers.

What kind of support do you expect from the Premix team?

Oxana, our closest contact at Premix, supports us very well with product knowledge, disclaimers, etc. In addition to this, I would like to get one-pagers (PDFs) from Premix to send to customers when they ask about a specific application, e.g., on ESD boxes, automotive, etc.

I am always open to training and new development discussions. I really liked the webinars in the past, and I believe you will have something like this in the future.

How do you share our news in your organization?

We have quarterly meetings with our thermoplastic Sales Managers, during which each of us shares some project and market knowledge. I typically take one project with Premix products, as they are challenging to sell and make interesting case examples.
