PPWR Readiness Starts with Material Choices

Post image

In our latest Net Promoter Scrore (NPS) survey, one message from our customers and partners came through clearly: Sustainability progress must be visible also at product level. At the same time, a much bigger shift is underway. The upcoming Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) will redefine how packaging and packaging materials are designed, validated and recycled  across Europe. And for many companies, the question is no longer if this will impact them but how prepared they are.

Making sustainable material choices easier
To support our customers in meeting upcoming sustainability and PPWR-related requirements, we have further clarified our ESD packaging portfolio for boxes and pallets from a circularity perspective.

Our portfolio includes four PRE-ELEC® grades designed to support recycled-content-based conductive packaging solutions: PRE-ELEC® PP18999 concentrate and the compound grades PRE-ELEC® PP19136, PRE-ELEC® PP19161, and PRE-ELEC® PP19599. These materials help customers develop conductive packaging solutions aligned with evolving recycled content targets and circular economy goals.

The concentrate solution PRE-ELEC® PP18999 also provides additional flexibility by enabling the use of different recycled material streams and supporting customer-specific material formulations and recycling strategies.

In practice, this gives customers greater flexibility when selecting conductive packaging materials — whether choosing a ready-made compound solution or tailoring materials according to their own sustainability and performance requirements.

Are you ready?

With binding targets on recycled content, reuse, recyclability, and reporting, packaging is no longer just a product — it is becoming part of a regulated system. PPWR is already shaping customer expectations and driving changes across the packaging value chain.

Preparing for these requirements is not only about selecting the right material. It is about building collaboration across the value chain to develop packaging solutions that balance performance, conductivity, sustainability, and future compliance needs.

At Premix, we do not simply supply conductive materials — we work together with customers, partners, and the wider value chain to support long-term development and shared sustainability goals. By acting early, companies can better prepare for upcoming PPWR requirements while strengthening their ability to offer more sustainable and future-ready packaging solutions.

We are happy to discuss your packaging needs and help you find the right sustainable  material solution for your application.
